I love the way the red square ties in the whole color scheme in the carport. I just wished the blue paint photographed better. Oh well, I'll keep trying....

Almost finished...
One more coat of paint on the doors, and it will be done!
Apparently I have a knack for picking difficult colors, and lime green paint is sometimes hard to get a good solid coverage with 2 coats, so a third coat is necessary.

House Day 4
Wow! The colors worked! I have to say I was a bit nervous, but when we rounded the corner last night and saw it, I was so happy! The pictures do not do it justice.

With the rain we've had in the last week, our Silverado Sage is going crazy! Great accent color to the house....
I will post pictures later of the complete project. There is a painting crew here right now painting the doors, which will be the final touch.
I have to recommend Doug Gorton Painters! His crew is great and super fast!

House Day 3
I have to say I really love red. I have always loved red, but just never thought about putting it on my house. This changed my mind(imagine the olive green gone):

I can't wait to see what it looks like with the trim color. After lots of deliberation and paint chips, this is our final color scheme.
The blue is actually more turquoise(y) than the picture lets on. I really hope they look as good together on the house as they look on the table. But after all it is just paint and we can always change it if it is horrible.

House Day 2

Well I have to say this is going much faster than I thought it would. Today we came home to the first coat of paint. I love the gray, but not with our old trim color.

Today the shutters and attic vents will become a lovely shade of red.
Any sign at all.....

House Day 1
The painting crew got started on the prep work for the house on Tuesday. When we got home, the exterior was all scrubbed nice and clean.
Apparently scrubbing a house produces noise that annoys cats. We are usually greeted at the door by both our crazy animals, begging for attention, but today they were hiding. It took a few minutes for Moneypenny to come out of her hiding place, but Ornette was more difficult. I finally found him....

And so it begins....
Thanks to our last insect visitors, we have discovered we need to do some upkeep to our house. We apparently have some decaying wood that is just too appetizing to wood burrowing/eating insects. So we have decided to redo the exterior of our house.
Now for the fun part, deciding which colors to go with. I love color, but always overthink my color choices, thus making this process way too long. I have decided to make this much easier...Thank God for paint samples!
Our house is mostly a light neutral brick, with wood siding in the carport and in the roof peaks. We have decided to go with a dark neutral gray to offset the light brick and let the trim color really pop out. We also needed to liberate our green house from our jungle of a front yard. Now, if we can only decide on which one.....
